Since my business, which is also my home, was robbed last week, I have made it a point to
find a good home security system. The main place that I have been looking is on the
different online forums. I find them very helpful, since it is everyday people like me who
have either purchased a security system and have questions about them, or they are checking
out the market like I am.
What I have found is a very wide variety of systems and prices. At first I was leaning
toward the Magna Alert series of alarm panels, the Napco Magnum Alert 1000, and RP
1000elcd keypad, in particular. I changed my mind after reading a forum note of a guy
who could not change his Dealer Code access. Someone in the forum did help out, so the
problem did have a pretty easy solution.
Then I talked to a guy who had recently installed a different security system with a
central station alarm management company. He told me that they had used a Napco Gemini 816
Central Controller. I liked the idea that I could build onto the system using integration
modules of the Gemini 9600. Great choice!
Because I have a dog and three cats, I have also decided on the IQ Profiler. Other than
being easy to install (I can do-it-myself) has what they call ‘intruder catch detection’
which means that it rejects profiles such and dogs, cats, birds and things like the heater
kicking on or the blinds being lifted by drafts. These are common false alarms that the
IQProfiler catches. There are different types but the one I’m getting as added something
new called the Quick Catch Mode which makes it the best false alarm verifier on the market
today. Like I said before, it installs with ease…just under a minute is what they say.
Other than the IQ Profiler, all of Napco Security System products are installed by security
specialists. It is a company that stands behind its products with international customer
service. Since I have had my Gemini 9600 and IQ Profiler installed, a load has been taken
off of me, especially when I am not at home and my wife is there by herself . Napco
Security System was a great choice for my security needs.
