Wireless Burglar Alarm -- I Didn't Think I Needed One Either

I have always hated being home alone. I never really wanted to invest in a wireless burglar alarm, so I tried everything else instead. There were deadbolts, chain locks, barrel bolts, and more. But even with all of that hardware, I never felt completely safe. At one point, we even got a dog. Unfortunately, the dog was scared of his own shadow.

My neighbor finally convinced me that I would be so much happier if I just had an alarm system installed. So after listening to her experience, I decided to give it a try. I spent a lot of time doing research. I checked out all sorts of kits and systems including Ademco, DSC and Napco. When I found a system that looked like the right fit for my family, I took the plunge.

When the wireless burglar alarm was installed, I was surprised to find out that my kit had enough connections for all of my ground floor doors and windows. I always thought that alarm systems only covered entry doors. I was even more surprised when I realized that having the alarm made me feel more comfortable working in areas of my home where I couldn't hear what was going on outside.

I was home alone with my children when an intruder tried to come in through the back door. The only thing that saved us was the alarm. The second that alarm went off, the intruder took off. The monitoring company called right away and let me know the police were on the way. I was so relieved to know that even though I was terrified, we weren't alone.

It's hard for me to look back and realize I almost got rid of my wireless burglar alarm. I was so frustrated because my kids just couldn't seem to stop touching it. I really thought the monitoring service was going to kill us because of all of our false alarms. Now, I can't seem to find the words to express my gratitude that they were there.

After this experience, I wouldn't give up my wireless burglar alarm for anything. The security of my home and family mean so much to me, and now I feel like I have a partner when it comes to protecting them.
